STANDARD CONDITIONS OF HIRE

  1. BOOKING

The Hall may only be used for the purpose stated on the booking form and only the area paid for may be used.  The Hirer shall not sub-hire the premises, or allow the premises to be used for any unlawful or unauthorized activity.  The Hirer (or their Authorized Representative, not being a person under 21 years of age), should be on the premises during the period of the booking.  The Management Committee has the right to refuse a booking without giving a reason.

 

  1. BOOKING CHARGES

Each Hall or Room may be hired separately or collectively. The charges are as set out on our website.

A 1/3rd discount for villagers (non commercial events) applies to all the rates.

We kindly request that payment be made no later than 14 days after invoice date. Payment by bank transfer or cheque.

Please note that any long term block bookings are subject to regular review by the Hall committee.

We require refundable deposits to cover breakages, damages, and extra cleaning if required. Children’s Daytime Parties £50.00; Full Day bookings £100.00; Evening Bookings £250.00; Wedding bookings £500.00 (£250 of this deposit is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled with less than 6 months notice).

Please note that our day rates are for 8 hours. Any additional hours are charged at the hourly rate

Bookings cancelled with less than seven clear days’ notice will be charged at one third of the normal charge unless the accommodation can be re-let. Regular users can make firm bookings 3 months ahead only.  We reserve the right to cancel forward bookings if  required

  1. USE AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE

The hirer will, during the period of the hiring, be responsible for supervision of the premises.  They also accept responsibility for any damage, however slight, to the building and the contents.

Hirers must leave the Hall or Room in the same clean and tidy condition as they find it. Hirers are responsible for the set up and break down of each room, this includes setting up and putting away tables and chairs. They will also be responsible for making good any damage or loss and for ensuring that the requirements of the Law in regard to the use are fully observed, to obtain licenses where necessary and pay such fees or royalties as may be due.  The Hirer will need to check if the need a Temporary Events Notice or an Alcohol License.

The Hall must be vacated at the agreed time and in any event not later than 23.59 hours (23.15 hours on Sunday). This needs to include any cleaning up required and quietly leaving the car park. See the comment re music below.

  1. SAFETY

Hirers should familiarize themselves with the locations of the Emergency Exits, Fire Extinguishers and the Safety Notices displayed in the Hall.  In particular they must ensure that access to the exits and equipment is kept free from obstruction. All our electrical items are tested to comply with HSE standards. Any electrical appliances and installations that the user brings and plugs into the Hall must be similarly tested. We reserve the right to refuse their use if up to date test certificates are not available.

  1. NUMBERS

For any function, the numbers present should not exceed 200.

  1. RESPECT FOR OUR NEIGHBOURS

Hirers are asked to make as little noise as possible, particularly after 23.00 hours. Music must finish at 23.30 hours (23.00 hours on Sunday).

The Hirer will be responsible for the supervision of the car parking spaces provided outside the building. They should be used responsibly to minimize the need for on street parking.  In the event that there is an overflow, make sure that there is no obstruction to the parking and access to surrounding houses.
